What To Do With Leftover Brownies: Five Fun Ideas

What To Do With Leftover Brownies: Five Fun Ideas

Got a few leftover brownies or some spare brownie mixture you’re not sure what to do with? All is not lost – there’s plenty you can do to make sure not a single crumb of chocolatey goodness goes to waste – and in this blog, we’re showcasing five of our favourite ideas.

These ingenious, ‘make do and mend’ brownie creations will delight your taste buds and impress your friends… we promise! Why not give them a try?

Use them in milkshakes or smoothies

Is your mouth watering already? Ours too. Brownie milkshakes are a thing, and they’re absolutely to die for. Start by making a milkshake with either vanilla or chocolate ice cream (the choice is yours), but add your brownies before you blend it all together. The resulting drink is smooth, rich, creamy and positively scrumptious.

Turn them into truffles

This concept is one of our favourites here at Cakehead. Made by mixing your brownies with cream cheese – which binds them together and makes them easily moldable – brownie truffles aren’t hard to make. Once the cream cheese is mixed in, simply shape each truffle into the desired shape and allow them to cool for 30 minutes in the fridge. Job done.

Use them as an ice cream topping

This one’s self-explanatory – and super easy. Chocolate brownies and vanilla ice cream is a match made in heaven; simply place your brownie pieces on, below or around your ice cream and let the two flavours meld together as the ice cream begins to melt. Grab a spoon and tuck in… and prepare to discover heaven on Earth.

Make them into cookies

Yes, brownie cookies – what a combo! Take your brownies and mix them together using an electric mixer until they form a firm dough. They should be nice and moldable at this point, so form the mixture into a long, cylindrical shape. Stick it in the fridge for a couple of hours and then cut into cookie-style slices.

Freeze them!

Before you start turning your brownies into something different, don’t forget you can always simply freeze them for later. If they’re still fresh, they should taste just as good when you take them out of the freezer.
